Okay, so I've been watching Dance Wars for the past several weeks, 'cause Philip was on it. I know him, I went to school with him, I worked with him in chorus. So, obviously, I've been rooting for him and his team. And finally, tonight, they won! He and his team won a music contract, which is *so* cool! *bounces* I'm so excited for him, it's awesome to see people you knew from school getting on in the world.

...And now I'm gonna go fall over, 'cause I'm sick, and it sucks. *grumbles*

Yeesh. And there are over a million people with my first name. Actually, I've run across someone else having my first, middle *and* last name all the same. That was kinda creepy... Not in person, it was at a doctor's office. They were trying to find me in their system, heh. They had to resort to birthdays to tell us apart...

And here I thought beading like crazy to get all my Christmas presents done would make me back off from beading a bit. Nope! Not a hope of that. I just spent over $100 at the bead shop the other day. *head-desk* So much for the money Aunt Babs gave me for Christmas! Most of it was spent on beads, of course, but I did buy a book called "The Beader's Bible". I think I'm in love, frankly. It has *so* many patterns! Sadly, I don't have enough colors for most of the projects (wah), but I've started a lovely black and gold celtic knot pattern. My first project on my bead loom! I'm so happy! It's turning out nicely, too. I really need to find a place to buy my beads wholesale, though. I cost me $8 just for a thin tube of silver delicas (the type of beads I prefer to work with). $8! There's no way I could sell my work without either gouging my customers, or selling at a loss with prices that ridiculous. *sigh*

.... *wanders off to drag out her bead loom again*

I've started beading again. First I did a necklace for my mom, and now I'm working on a piece for myself. *smirk* Hey, if I can make cool jewelry, why should I give it all away? But I seem to be on a beading kick again, so you guys might end up getting jewelry again for Christmas. Well, not Caitlin, I already have her present. My poor hands have to get used to beading again, though, it's been a while since I worked on it for this long. My left hand really isn't happy with me, heh.

I'm pretty cheap to buy for this year, I'm just asking for manga from y'all.

Angel Sanctuary 16 & 17 (and up, if you feel like it)
+ Anima 4 & 5
Kamui 8 & 9
Rurouni Kenshin 18 & 19

Oh, and I'll likely be getting the new Fruits Basket and xxxHolic manga from my family, so don't bother buying 'em for me, please! ^^'

The law has been laid down by Grandma, this is the last year as me as a kid. Meaning next year I'm part of the name drawing for Christmas presents, so I'll only get one, instead of the several from my Grandma and aunts and uncles. *pout* It's times like this it sucks being the oldest cousin. *sigh* Ah well. It was nice while it lasted. Though Kimmy's going to be spoiled rotten by the end, since she's the youngest cousin by more than ten years. She's running poor Grandma ragged too, since she wants to make sure she gets to do *everything* with Grandma that the rest of us cousins got to do too. *chuckles* Though Grandma doesn't mind too much, since she adores all of us.

Speaking of Grandma, she's turning 75 in a couple of weeks. She always says she feels so old, but really, she's pretty young. Especially when you know that her oldest child (my dad) is 51. Mom's planning a party for all of us to get together to celebrate. It'll be fun. I want to sing something for her, since she loves to hear me sing, but I'm having trouble thinking of an appropriate song. Most of the songs I know all seem to have depressing lyrics. >.> It's vaguely annoying.

Well, Thanksgiving was fun. Got together with my dad's side of the family, which means my hyper cousin Kimmie. *grin* She's so sweet, though. Alli and I spent most of our time playing "secret ninjas" with her, lol. We wrote secret messages in code (though Alli cheated and wrote one of her messages in Japanese, heh), snuck around, made paper airplanes and flew them down over the stair balcony. The food was really good. Aunt Babs made her spoonbread again, and it was *very* yummy. She actually made two containers of it, 'cause my cousin Matt and Christopher are both big fans of the stuff. *snickers* This is not to say I didn't help demolish it... *sheepish grin* Though Chris says he gets the leftover spoonbread 'cause he's bigger. *pout* So not fair. Why did I have to get my dad's side of the family height genes? Actually, it's more like they kinda evened each other out, 'cause my mom's side women are fairly tall, and on my dad's side the women are all tiny... I'm lucky I ended up average height instead of *really* small. That would just suck. ...And I'm wandering off topic. I also got some beads and charms from Aunt Babs that she didn't want, which was cool. Less bead stuff I end up spending my own money on, yay! Kimmie also showed us her Irish step dancing. She's getting really good at it.

So I've been playing my Zelda game, and it's pretty good. My only real gripe with it (there's always at least *one*) is the Temple of the Ocean. You have a timer going while you're going through the thing. Not only that, but each time you go back, the whole thing resets! So you have to go through *all* the levels you went through previously to get to the new one. Argh. And last, but *certainly* not least, you can't kill the bad guys who run around there. Oh no, they're *invincible*. So you can only avoid being spotted. *head-desk* I *just* finished a dungeon with a vaguely annoying boss, and now I have to go back to the Temple *again*... wah. So very much taking a break from it.

In other news... I don't know if any of you know the Christmas carol "What Child is This?" Well, ages ago, I wrote a poem (song?) to that tune, 'cause it just *fits* a lament, and I just found out that the tune was originally used in a ballad called Greensleeves. What really amuses me is that both the ballad and my lament are about the same things, a guy mourning the fact that their love left them. ^^' Weird, huh?

So we buried Grandma today. She was buried with Poppy in the Arlington National Cemetery. Six sailors carried in the casket and we had a Navy chaplin for the service, since Poppy had been in the Navy. He fought in WWII. It was raining, which kinda sucked. Afterward we went to an Irish pub for the wake and had lunch, which was nice.

Today (well, technically yesterday) was my birthday and it was great! I got a lot of stuff from my parents and my grandma, which was a bit surprising. I got *four* books on beading, a bead loom, the book Reserved for the Cat by Mercedes Lackey, the CD Celtic Origins by Anúna, the Limited Edition of FFVII Advent Children DVDs and the soundtrack, and Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. *bounces* I've been playing Phantom Hourglass most of the day, hee. Then Mom, Dad and I went out for dinner at Kobe's (a Japanese steakhouse) and had a Baskin Robin's mint chocolate chip ice cream cake for dessert. Mmmm... so good. And now I shall go to bed after a very happy day.

Yesterday Mom and Dad were cleaning out some stuff in the basement, which meant *I* got to go through stuff to determine what I must keep down there, and what can be thrown away (or donated). Of course, some of what I went through was my old stuffed animals. And I mean really old stuffed animals, most of them were from when I was a baby. The only one I rescued was my baby Ernie doll, 'cause I *loved* that guy. He went everywhere with me, and is more than a little worn down by this point, but I can't help but still love him.

Also, I recently bought one of those aromatherapy pillow mists to try to help with my insomnia. I'd given it as presents before, and the people liked it, so I thought I'd try it for myself. Unfortunately, my asthma reacted to it. *head-desk* Argh... That was $13 wasted. ...Anyone else want it?

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

...Interesting.

You may or may not know that I *love* to bead, especially with seedbeads. It can be delicate work, and takes patiences and a lot of time, but it's so worth it when you finish. The only problem is... well, beads can be bloody expensive. Especially when there are so many colors to choose from! It's hard to pick which ones to buy, when frankly, I want to buy them all. *sheepish* I've been looking through books on beading on Amazon, and I can't help but want most of these books... I found one that shows you how to make little boxes out of seedbeads! And books on what I'm really interested in learning right now... loom-work beading. On a loom, you can bead bracelets, necklaces and even wall hangings! And I've been finding books with Native American beading patterns, which have caught my eye ever since I went to the new Native American museum in DC. They had a whole exhibit for just beadwork there, and I couldn't help but want to do work like that too.

...Yeah, I think I'll stop babbling now. ^^'

Well, we did the viewing today. The first part, with the open casket was family only. I sang Danny Boy. I'd sung it to Grandma before and she really liked it, so I was glad I could do it for her one last time. Of course, most everyone had broken into tears by the time I was done. *sheepish* Everyone was very impressed. Some of my cousins hadn't heard me sing before, so they were pretty surprised. Anyway, after that, they closed the casket and friends of Grandma and the rest of the family came. Aunt Maureen, Aunt Patti, Aunt Suzy, Aunt Joanie and Uncle John were all there. Uncle Jimmy will be coming to the funeral tomorrow, he couldn't get a flight in to get here for today. It's kinda sad, a lot of the family I saw today I haven't seen in ages... It was nice to see them again, I just wish it could have been under happier circumstances, you know?

Grandma finally passed away tonight, surrounded by her family. We'll be finding out about the funeral arrangements soon. She'll be buried in the Arlington Cemetery next to Poppy. Mom's hanging in there. It's really sad that both her parents are gone now. I only have one grandparent left now, and I hope my last remaining Grandma will be around for a long time yet.

It's rare that I have dreams with stuff from anime, so I was rather surprised that I had a dream last night starring the Weiss Kreuz boys. And that it was like your usual crossover fanfic. *sweatdrop* Ken ended up getting kidnapped by people at Hogwarts (obviously been reading too many HP fanfics) because they somehow thought he was using Legilimancy (or however you spell it) on people, when actually it's Schuldig, and Aya ends up going after him ('cause they're going out. Even in my sleep I slash characters. ^^;;;). And somehow the Weiss Kreuz boys had gotten their hands on the Sennen Items at some point, 'cause they used them to get to Hogwarts. Don't ask me, I don't understand my subconscious either! Needless to say, when I woke up I was very much "WTF? Okay, maybe I need to cut back on the fanfics..."

So, Dad told me that they'll be putting in the new windows on Thursday, so I have to move my desk, possibly my bed too, so they can get to my window. Whee. Also, this means they'll be starting to replace the roof and the siding. *rolls her eyes* Oh *joy*, more banging. I might end up back at Grandma's. *shrugs* We'll see. Good thing she likes me, ne? *sheepish grin*

I got a bunch of new beads when I was at Grandma's and have been making some new things. I made a braclet for Grandma as a thank you present, it was a woven braclet of light blue seed beads with a white snowflake pattern, and then I made a daisy chain braclet for my cousin Kimmie, which she loved. ^^ Hey guys, guess what you're getting for Christmas! Heh, nah, too repetitive. Still thinking about selling these things, though. The only problem is, how much do I sell them *for*? I know my Aunt Babs had some problems with that too when she'd make and sell jewelry... You don't want to sell them too cheaply, 'cause these things take time and effort. *grin* And mine can make you a bit cross-eyed over time, 'cause seed beads are damn tiny. But you don't want to make them too expensive either, or people won't buy 'em... Hmm. Well, we shall see, ne?
